2.6 REQUIRED TO WORK ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY
(a) Compensation for public holiday working applies to constables and sergeants. Inspecting and superintending ranks are entitled to another rest day. Part-time workers are not required to work 40 hours per week before being compensated for working on a public holiday.
(b) To help determine where days start and end it is important to note that the force day starts at 0700 unless otherwise determined by the chief constable.

Start time advanced into a Public Holiday (Example start time advanced from 0700 on working day to 0500 on a public holiday) | Less than 8 days’ notice: Minimum of 4 hours payment or TOIL at double time, relevant travelling time and another public holiday. 8 or more days’ notice: Minimum of 4 hours payment or TOIL at double time and relevant travelling time (see section 1.9). |
