2.5 REQUIRED TO WORK ON A REST DAY
(a) Compensation for working on a rest day applies to constables and sergeants. Inspecting and superintending ranks are entitled to another rest day. Part-time workers are not required to work 40 hours per week before being compensated for working on a rest day.
(b) To help determine where days start and end it is important to note that the force day starts at 0700 unless otherwise determined by the chief constable.
(c) A rest day only loses its status as a rest day when it is re-rostered with at least 18 days’ notice. Where an officer works on a rest day with less than 18 days’ notice it is a requirement to work on a rest day and not considered a tour of duty for the purposes of advancement of start time or recall to duty.
