4.9 CENTRAL SERVICE ALLOWANCES PAYABLE TO POLICE OFFICERS AT THE SCOTTISH POLICE COLLEGE
Police Circular No: 5/2001
Police Circular No: 2/1984
(a) The allowances payable to police officers at the Scottish Police College were revised with effect from 1 April 2001. The revised allowance replaced separate rank allowances with a single allowance for all ranks of £2100.
(b) The allowance recognised the value of officers working long hours at the College and the domestic disturbance associated with a residential appointment.
(c) It is a non-pensionable allowance which contains an element of compensation for the longer hours which may be worked, and will be paid in addition to an officer’s pay.
