3.3 PUBLIC HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT

PNB Circular 2017/3

(a) Public Holidays for officers are 1 January and 25 December.

(b) Officers may nominate other days in place of one or both of these days for religious or cultural reasons.

(c) The public holiday day starts at 0700 and compensation for working on a public holiday is outlined at section 2.6.

(d) Where a public holiday falls on the same date as a rest day, the public holiday will take precedence and the rest day will require to be moved to a separate date.

(e) In recognition of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, officers will receive an additional public holiday on Monday 8 May 2023.  This is a one-off, fixed public holiday and is not subject to individual nomination to a different date for religious or cultural reasons.
